Most Awesome Tuna Can Ever

LAGOS, Portugal, January 9, 2007

Thank you Portugal, for proferring this awesome can of tuna that looks like it’s been hanging out at the bottom of a sailboat for the last 70 years.

For some reason, a can of tuna is relatively expensive in Portugal - this can ran me €1.90 ($2.48 at current exchange rates). But oh, the deliciousness of real tuna lovingly napped in olive oil. Just kidding, I hate when food writers use the word “napped.”

I should tell you that this blog post is hard for me to write, as I’ve always had this strange shame about eating tuna. Somehow it fills me with the same “cheap food I shouldn’t be seen eating” feeling as a can of Spaghetti-Os at age 25 undoubtedly would. Mmmmm, Spaghetti-Os.
