It’s SLO country - San Luis Obispo county, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It’s a little bit warm, under-touristed, and freaking delicious.

Wharf, Pismo Beach.

Might as well get you a biscuit from Beaching Biscuits and head down to the beach. This sausage biscuit comes slathered with honey butter.

Soak away in mineral hot springs under the trees. You’ll have to hike up the hills to Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort in Avila Beach which features tub rentals by the hour.

If you eat meat, you have no choice. Go to Jocko’s. You might have eaten great steak before, but this will haunt your dreams. Each steak comes with a plethora of old fashioned sides and is easily shared.
