I love getting a big group of people excited about doing a big idea, and here’s how I’ve done it before.  

Academic Events

(2 years) Lead of CoDesign Workshops through Georgia Tech’s Public Design Workshop, conducting multiple “growBots” community listening and design sessions under  IRB/NSF guidelines. 

  • PROGRAM PLANNING: Developing urban farming/gardening workshops in 20 person GT lab, preparing day-of educational programming (participatory design, surveys, focus groups), supervising design breakout sessions.

  • EVENT ORGANIZATION: Scouting and procuring facilities, design, transport & setup of learning stations, all logistics

  • COMMUNITY OUTREACH: self-generated attendee lists, directing all outreach communication (digital/print/social), generated after-event reports, academic presentations, program evaluation, and media relations including growBots segment on CNN, WIRED and Gourmet magazine

     


Volunteer Events

(3 years) Launched 100%  volunteer popup foodie club “rogueApron.” Events ranged from potluck suppers with 100 participants to backyard dinners and farm workdays. 

(3 years) Founded “indie” business networking group of 500 - “Lady Rogue Business Network.” In partnership with 4 person volunteer Board, designed bespoke educational curriculum for monthly seminars/workshops, hosted at member businesses with expert speakers.

  • PROGRAM PLANNING: Developed 60+ unique sold-out-in-minutes concepts, recruiting volunteer chefs/brewers/staff, supervising budget 

  • EVENT ORGANIZATION: Facility/venue/sourcing & equipment/permits, customized volunteer orientation and team assignments, supervising day-of logistics. 

  • COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Executing all communications, building 3k+ mailing list and media relations. Biggest Event: rogueApron Slow Food Picnic in Piedmont Park. Favorite: SoupLine at Lang Carson Park.


Corporate Event & Community Management

Corporate Management 

(4 years) Ran Home Depot Corporate’s community blog with 5 FTE direct reports, consisting of real DIY projects written by volunteers: store employees, guest blogger network, sponsor partner brands. Real Stories, Real Doing Program success led to expansion with contracted influencers and video campaigns. 

  • PROGRAM PLANNING: Recruited and motivated 100+ contributors. Project managed 30+ annualized projects at any one time [e.x. small home repairs, home renovations, style challenges] -  several with on-site daily supervision of multiple sub-contractors and film crews. 

  • PROGRAM ORGANIZATION: Developed SOPs, managed vigorous legal and state-by-state compliance frameworks,  managed creative partners and 50+ internal stakeholders, produced branded merchandise, product owner for web development, produced signage for +2k locations, and national print advertising. Responsible for program RFPs and cost forecasting, comarketing directly with FB/PIN as well as YT/TW-X,  securing $2M+ in sponsorships or in-kind donations,  C-suite communication regarding program ROI. 

    (2 years) Program Lead for annual “Haven Conference” sponsored by Home Depot, the IRL meetup of our guest blogger network.

  • PROGRAM PLANNING: Recruiting and evaluating workshop curriculum from THD experts, sponsor/partners and subject matter experts to lead DIY workshops for participants. Utilized event to build database of 2k potential volunteers.
